A robust and effective backup solution is very important for any business, whatever the size.

We have designed and installed various solutions for clients, in each there is a common set of
considerations that must be addressed:
- Technology - where is the backup being saved to? There are various options including
hard disk drives, memory sticks and tape.
- Data - what needs to be backed up?
- Backup Rotation Sets - sets of backups should always be performed over a period of time
and an effective media rotation scheme should always be in place.
- Frequency - how often should backups be performed?
- Security - who has access to backups and where are they stored?
- Monitoring and Testing - backups should be constantly monitored to make sure they are
working correctly. Test restores should be regularly performed for the same reason.
